hi kris,

thank you very much for the lovely and very useful information. i am planing in doing the same thing in my basement, i would use pl300 glue to attach the foam to the foundation. my question is can i frame over foam with 2x2s and attach my dry wall over the frame? i dont want to use a 2x4 because there will be alot of gap between the foam and the dry wall. does the dry wall need to be installed very close to the foam or it does not matter?

thanks

Whoo Walls in Dexter Michigan makes a laminated panel with fire proof magnesium oxide cement board bonded on both sides of a 3 inch foam core. I understand they have UL approval. It is a new product from Whoo and I believe it has a floor grade epoxy coating which means put it up and it is done. I had talked to Dave Parker are Wahoo about it. 734-424-9091

I had a contractor use Sherwin Williams deckscape solid stain on my front deck and within 2 months the deck is growing black mold. I'm being told it's because I live near the water (2 blocks from the Long Island Sound) and the small shrubbery (which is 1-3 feet from the deck) is the cause. Sherwin Williams rep came out and told me it was improper prep of the deck...could have been wet when stain applied but is not blaming it on the proximity of the water and shrubs. The deck did NOT have a mold problem prior to this. Any suggestions on fighting this complaint?

I am in the process of determining a skirting to put around my pier and beam foundation home. I've been looking at metal, but this looks very good. One question, in placing the framing in the ground that you used to attach the bottom of the pickets, did you consider or address termites. I live in Texas. Termites are a problem. My exterminator tells me that wood to ground voids any warranties for termite control.

I was planning on glueing 2" white sytrofoam to the basement walls. Does anyone know if there is a problem doing this? Will it cause moisture problems behind it?
